It wasn't until someone very close to me encountered heart failure that I really started to understand about the foods we eat and salt intake. However, after reading the medical reports and the doctors recommendations with regards to salt intake. I came to
understand that we daily take in a whole lot of salt and many times without even knowing it.
You see for a person dealing with heart failure, 2000 mg of salt each day is the limit. Anything past that and it can have drastic affects.
Now for the reality check. Check your daily salt intake for breakfast, lunch, dinner and all the snacks that you eat and you will be shocked. The average fast food meal runs 1,200 to 1,500 mg of salt per meal. The average
restaurant meal runs about the same and sometimes higher. The average morning, lunch and dinner can run upwards of 3,500 to 4,000 mg of salt for home cooked meals.
You might be saying I don't have heart problems. That may be true, however go read about the affects of salt on our heart and health.
